Wordlings is a free word game that runs in your browser. The 70 hiragana are your tiles, and every one is drawn as a little mech. Collect them, spell the day's target words, and climb the leaderboard.

How it plays

- Tap Get Letters for a free batch of hiragana tiles (your first batch always contains a spellable word).

- Tap tiles to spell one of today's 10 target words: real Japanese, shown with romaji and meaning.

- Earn XP and ◈ credits for every word. Spend credits to buy a whole row or column of tiles when you need specific letters.

- Hunt for secret words worth 5× XP.

- New target words every day.

Rounds, ranks and the vote

Each round ends with a leaderboard. Finish in the top 10% for the Sensei card, then Wordsmith, Apprentice, Rumbler. Your best card is your vote: between episodes, players decide what happens next in the AI Apocalypto story, a story about an AI that wakes up in 2030 and the scientist who talks it down. Round 1 is live now; Episode 2's vote opens when the round closes.
